the Tsungani Family

Tsungani is an excellent Christian camp. My daughters have attended for 6 years and absolutely loved it. The counselors are well trained and dedicated. Some have gone for almost 30 years!

Camp Tsungani

The term tsungani means “above all others” or “the best”. At Camp Tsungani we believe that going to camp isn’t just about leaving home for a week, but is a chance to make the first week of summer the best week of summer. It’s a chance to grow closer to God as you meet new friends.

The Details
Camp Tsungani

The first and best week of summer for 3rd – 5th graders

Camp Tsungani is a spend-the-night camp for 3rd – 5th graders. It is a ministry of Central Church and is staffed by Central Church members who love kids. Most of the staff are regular weekend volunteers who run the kids ministry at the church.

Since 1978 Camp Tsungani has a reputation of being the best week of the summer for both campers and counselors. Many of our counselors were campers at Tsungani in their childhood.

Parents will drop off and pick up at the camp grounds.

Sunday, May 28 – Thursday, June 1

Cabins and Tribes
Kids are grouped into cabins based on who they select as a roommate and what grade they are in. Cabin sizes are usually about 6-8 kids per one counselor. Cabins are grouped into tribes. Each tribe has a leader who oversees the counselors in their tribe. Tribes consist of boy cabins and girl cabins.

Each day of camp is full of fun. As soon as the kids wake up until they go to bed, they are moving from one fun activity to the next. Each day includes Bible exploration both on a personal level and in a group setting. Besides the fun activities, campers will enjoy group games, snack time, night activities, and more. Each day will end with a worship time designed for kids that includes awesome music and a short message geared for kids.

The campgrounds will be closed to visitors during the extent of camp. At night, the camp gates will be closed. The location also has staff who will be running the activities and helping keep each camper stay safe.

Campers will not be allowed to come and go during camp.
