Priority Prayer for Priority Personnel
God is on the move and lives are being changed at Central Church! This past year we have seen significant spiritual and numeric growth in the body of our church. This growth is exciting because it represents the fact that ministry is taking place - lives are being transformed and people are being reached. With this growth comes the incredible responsibility to pastor and shepherd the needs of an expanding body of believers. In light of the growth and expansion that is occurring, the elders of Central feel it is important that we hire personnel to staff some priority ministries in the life of our church.
We want to present these positions to the church to make you aware of what is taking place and to encourage you to pray that God would lead the right men to assume these vital positions of leadership and ministry.
Two Key Personnel Positions remain open:
- WORSHIP PASTOR -
For close to four years, Hank Mauer has served Central Church as the Interim Worship Pastor. He is serving and leading the worship ministry with excellence, sacrificial commitment, and a true desire to see each of you give your heart and soul in worship to Jesus Christ. He has been instrumental in establishing the changes we have made in the 11 a.m. service. We are forever grateful for his ministry along with Lana Brown, Jenny Earhart, Mike Leake, and others in the music department who have provided pivotal leadership in this transitional period. Hank has handled his worship responsibilities in conjunction with his full-time job as a pilot with FedEx. The added responsibilities that go with a dynamic and growing church will require someone who is able to serve full time as worship pastor. Hank will continue in his capacity as Interim Worship Pastor until a worship pastor is found.
The Worship Pastor will provide overall leadership for all facets of Central's vibrant and dynamic worship program. The position includes leading multiple and diverse worship services, oversight of choir and orchestra, and expansion of worship throughout all ages and ministries in the church.
- FAMILY PASTOR - One of the primary areas of growth in our church is in the area of families and children. God is bringing many young families into our church in a major way, reflected in an increase of approximately 75 additional children every Sunday from a year ago. The Family Pastor would be the pastoral face for families in their 20-40's. He would be responsible for connecting families into the life of Central Church and integrating with other ministries such as small groups, Connecting Points, and Men's and Women's Ministries, and Children's Ministries.
These two positions are vital for the ministry of Central Church. Pray to see God move in bringing the right person to fill each of the positions. If you want to apply, click here and use the category search to locate each position and apply.
In His Mighty Name,
Ernie H. Frey Ph.D.

First Time Visitor to Central?
We are excited that you are considering visiting our congregation. To help you feel welcomed and comfortable, please know that we have a somewhat traditional service at 9:25 and a more contemporary service at 11:00. No formal dress is required at either service, but the contemporary service is designed to be less formal on all counts. You will find visitor parking on either side of our campus and in the back. We encourage you to park in the back and come in the back entrance where you will find a Welcome Center for you in the very middle of our building (Chapel area). Here we will answer any questions you have about where to go, where your kids will go, and anything else you need to know. You may click here to see a diagram of our facilities and parking areas around the campus. If you have further questions, call 901-888-4673.

Connecting Opportunities
Ask the Pastors Bible and related questions.
Why did the Israelites get to use tithe money to buy alcohol? Did Jesus visit hell? What is Purgatory? Are we supposed to forgive the Devil? How should we respond to the "Golden Compass" Controversy? and others (last entry on May 7, 2008)

On the Right Path
by Betty Page
In July 2007, I was greatly blessed to take a short-term Missions’ Trip to Naivasha, Kenya. I had always wanted to be involved in missions and take one of those trips to a far away land and experience it first hand. However, over the years, it just was not happening. I used to come in and help with mailings, packaging, etc. It appeared the same people were going all the time, even to the Holy Land. There was no chance for the majority. And then came Dr. Ernie Frey and all that changed. Dr. Frey got it right and gave an unprecedented opportunity to all who wished to participate in this ministry.

Obeying The Great Commission
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands us to " go and make disciples of all nations".
Some Central members and staff recently had an opportunity to do so. Take

Visions of the “Tis His Season” Women’s Event
Preparing your Home and Heart for Christmas was the theme on December 6th, as hundreds of women gathered to hear speakers Kimberly Medlock and Ellen Olford
discuss "the real reason for the season". Everyone enjoyed the wonderful dinner
and the amazing table decorations created by Central women volunteers. See the photos
