Current responsibilities: The Davies, who have been supported by Central Church since 1972, are involved in planting a strong evangelical Bible church with an emphasis on missions in New Orleans. They host a Hispanic home Bible study, evangelize and disciple new believers. Through Pat's network of contacts, they also are helping start Hispanic churches in several other cities, including Memphis.
Ministry news: Pat and Carolyn recently returned from a trip to Spain and Morocco to see how the Lord is working in those countries.
Current prayer request: Pray for continued grace and strength.

Current responsibilities: Dan joined GMF in 1993 and in 1996 was asked to open its first regional office in San Diego, CA. The West Coast office has grown to over 40 staff. Dan serves as GMF's 10/40 Window Director and has led church planting teams to Albania, Mexico, Venezuela, Cameroon, Brazil, Egypt, Israel, Slovenia, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, India, Myanmar, and the Caribbean. Dan's passion is taking the gospel to people who have never heard the Name of Jesus.
Ministry news: One of the projects Dan has been involved in over the past two years is church planting and evangelism in Yangoon, Myanmar (Burma). In recent months the Myanmar government, which is largely Buddhist, has cracked down on Christian activities and closed some churches. Myanmar nationals working with the church-planting teams have become fearful. Dan and a team from the U.S.A. went to Myanmar in November of 2001 and reported that three churches planted the year before were growing and doing well. They conducted in-home evangelistic meetings and held a five-day leadership training seminar.
Current prayer request: For wisdom and health, for Dan to continue to establish proper family priorities, and for a continued personal, intimate relationship with God.

Current responsibilities: I serve the Lord at Lake Hart, Campus Crusade for Christ's national headquarters in Orlando, FL. I work in the Human Resources Department within our National Campus Office. My specific role involves serving on the Sending and Recruiting team where I help send hundreds of new staff onto the field each year. We receive hundreds of new staff applications each spring and fall and I oversee the applications from the point that they are submitted to getting our new staff to Campus Crusade's new staff training. I have the opportunity to work directly with many of our regional directors, field staff, new staff evaluators and applicants through this process. I also serve on different ministry teams within our office. I am blessed to serve at Crusade's headquarters where I can be a part of the Lord's work around the world. I would really appreciate your prayers for my ministry!

Current responsibilities: We oversee the Mission Builders Program. Mission Builders are volunteers from all over the world who come to Kona for one to three months to serve the campus in critical needs areas such as the kitchen, landscaping/grounds, maintenance, offices, and hospitality. Don also oversees the maintenance of the existing buildings and the construction of the new buildings on the University of the Nations campus.
Roles:
Don: Along with planning and overseeing all the operational areas, maintenance, and building projects on our 100-acre campus, I also daily pour myself into some of the younger leaders that are around me, trying to pass on to them God's truths and the experience that God has given me. We physically work hard on the buildings and spiritually work through life-issues together. This is what God made me for, to build buildings and build His kingdom. Kona is the largest of over 1200 YWAM bases around the world, and we are multiplying quickly. We are building new buildings that allow us to house, train, and send thousands of new missionaries each year. Join us! Come help us build or pray or give! We'd love to have your participation!
Angie: My role is also split between the administrative work and discipleship of the over 400 Mission Builders we receive each year. We live among them, so our ministry is 24/7. I'm also involved in training and discipling the staff who live and serve in Kona. I also serve on various leadership teams to help strengthen and bring unity to the whole campus as well as lead a women's Bible Study every week.
Josh (17) and Jordan (15): Both boys are doing well in their online school. They both have jobs and spend the rest of their time in the water or on skateboards. Josh spent summer 2008 in Bali, Indonesia learning to reach the surfing/skating community for Christ. Jordan spent summer 2008 in Europe being discipled and learning to evangelize among his peers. Both boys have returned with a renewed passion for the Lord and are daily using the things they learned over the summer. Every day the local group of skaters are in our home, and we are loving on them and working to bring them to Christ. Josh plans to return to Indonesia and is learning Portuguese in order to one day go to East Timor.
Allie (13) and Avery (11): The girls are enjoying 7th and 6th grade at the local Christian school. They are often involved in local outreaches, assist us with the Mission Builders, and are looking forward until they are old enough to take their own mission trips like the boys.
Current prayer request: Pray for staff to join us long-term. We need long-term staff who will commit to BUILD here in Kona...build the buildings and also spiritually build into the students who come to be trained for missions! Also pray for spiritual protection for our family as we serve in a very spiritually dark, though outwardly beautiful, place. Pray for continual intimacy with Christ in stressful and intense roles.
