Central's Missionaries in Latin America
Matt and Toni Daniels (daughter Alejandra)
Mission: Uruguay
Supervising Mission Organization: Christian Associates International
How to reach them:
 |
Current responsibilities: Matt and Toni are members of Central Church who now work with a church-planting team in Uruguay to develop relationships, learn the culture and win people to Christ with the goal of planting a church or churches in the Uruguayan southlands.
Ministry news: Matt and I have just finished a week of service projects all over the city with over 100 volunteers and 6 projects. It was an amazing week and Serve The City has now been launched in South America! Below you will find a brief summary of a co worker of ours here.
Matt and I are heading out of town right now for a week of vacation and celebration! God showered so much blessing all over us that it will take the whole week to thank Him and celebrate Him.
The exciting news is that a dear Uruguayan friend of seven years took the leap of faith and entered into a relationship with our Lord and Savior!!!!!
He prayed with someone from the Memphis team this morning after having been with them all week. He was so moved by his decision and so grateful to our God! It is indeed amazing when someone finally comes home. Another friend is on the edge and knows it. Several have prayed with her that God will remove all that hinders her from faith. Please keep praying for Claudia, we know she is close to finding peace at last!
Much love and thanks to you all for your constant prayers. Toni

What a great ending to Serve The City we had. Yesterday was a gorgeous day in the high 70's. It was supposed to be stormy, rainy and cold - God gave us a great day. Over 140 people attended the festival. It was incredible. There was live music/bands, a clown doing face painting, balloon art, a blow up jumping gym, frisby, volunteers making and frying elephant ears, candy, hot chocolate, coffee - it was a huge success and attended by all ages, even some of my golden grannies came to see the fun.
Today at church 5 non Christian volunteers showed up and two accepted Christ. After working with the Memphis team and UY Christian youth they were impacted by their witness. One Memphis youth actually got down and helped a homeless deranged man put on his shoes one of the days they were giving free hugs and coffee downtown. What a testimony to those around.
The people didn't know what was going on with the "free hugs" signs but everyone left with big smiles whether they accepted a hug or not (crazy Americans![smile]).
All are on the plane home and those that stayed here are home by now sacked out. The last couple of nights a few never went to bed, just sat up talking with the UY kids, crazy kids[smile]. Daniela Chaves was one of those kids, she helped with STC also this week and left early this morning back to Colombia.
Matt and Toni survived and are on their way to Buenos Aires for a week of R&R.
Thank you for praying with us and for us - you were a vital part of this ministry! We felt the prayers all along the way.
Current prayer request: That Matt and Toni will be successful building relationships with local people; that God would develop indigenous church leaders; and that the Lord would provide for their spiritual and financial needs.
