Empowering Kids for Life: Kids Living Free
The time to prevent addictions is before they start. Empowering Kids small groups are for any child age 8-12. These groups teach the children that Jesus is the answer to life's problems. If He is not the Lord of their lives, then whatever they turn to for comfort may eventually become a life-controlling problem. Adolescents who don't understand this often turn to such things as drugs, video games, shopping, television, alcohol, cigarettes, anorexia, food or even pornography. Each participant will receive a workbook which gives parents an opportunity to reinforce what the facilitators have taught the children. A $12 donation is requested. Empowering Kids for Life groups will meet for 13 weeks on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 7:30, starting August 26. To register your child, call or email Jean Brunson at jeanbrunson@centralchurch.com, 901-277-1627. Registration deadline is August 18.
We are still looking for volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of children.
To register your child, call or for more information, contact Jean Brunson at 277-1627 or jeanbrunson@centralchurch.com. You can also view more information at: www.kidslivingfree.org. Click here to register online for Empowering Kids.
The Life Issues class is an encouraging, video/discussion class geared to understanding and dealing with the complicated needs & issues one experiences in life. The class is open to all adults and meets on Sunday at 9:25 a.m. in room 231.
Current Topic: Began Sunday July 11--- Boundaries-When To Say Yes & How To Say No To Take Control Of Your Life
Are you in control of your life? Do people take advantage of you? Do you have trouble saying no?
Christians often focus so much on being loving and giving that they forget their own limits and limitations. This workshop is designed to show you how to set healthy boundaries with your parents, spouses, children, friends, coworkers, and even yourself. Boundaries are personal property lines that define who you are and who you are not, and influence all areas of your life-including the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual facets of your being.
Attend this workshop and discover how sound boundaries give you the freedom to walk as the loving, giving, fulfilled individual God created you to be.
NEXT TOPIC: HOW PEOPLE GROW (beginning September 12)
Does Christianity really work? Why do I fail to make progress in certain areas of my life even though I work hard to apply the spiritual solutions I have been taught? I learn about God's love, yet continue to feel depressed. I understand the crucified life, but still struggle with problems in my relationships. I focus on my security in Christ, but continue to overeat. Spiritual interventions are not working for me.
How do I solve this dilemma?
This workshop is based on work by authors Henry Cloud and John Townsend. They have examined the processes and paths that actually help people grow and made a discovery. They went to the Bible and found that the true processes that make people grow are all there. Not only is the Bible true, but what is true is in the Bible.
Come invest time in this workshop that will bring you closer to God and to His paths of growth in your life—regardless of your past, failures, strongholds, wounds, hurts-hang ups-habits, and effects of other people and issues. Come experience how God desires to and can transform all parts of your life.

f.a.i.t.H. Support Group: (Facing An Illness Through HIM)
When either you or someone close to you is facing catastrophic illness, everything changes. Immediately, you are overwhelmed with grief, fear, anger, disturbing financial and medical decisions, and even life-and-death issues. The mission of the f.a.i.t.H. Support Group is to provide this needed connection for those both facing and providing care for those experiencing a serious illness.
