Empowering Kids for Life is an exciting 13-week curriculum for pre-teens ages 8 - 11 on Thursday nights beginning January 21 at 7pm. It is designed to guide children in discovering the path to Christian character as it gives them the tools they need to build their own "tower of power" to avoid life-controlling problems and live in the freedom of Christ. The foundation of Empowering Kids for Life rests on Jesus' words found in John 8:36, "Therefore if the Son makes you free; you shall free indeed." In short, these pre-teens will become better equipped to say "Yes" to God and "No" to addictions and other life-controlling problems that are being faced at younger ages. For more information, contact Jean Brunson at 277-1627 or jeanbrunson@centralchurch.com. You can also view more information at: www.kidslivingfree.org

Current Topic: ANGER: Our Master or Our Servant
Few of us have been taught to live with our feelings. We have been taught to think, but feelings often overwhelm and master the Christian. This study offers a clear explanation of anger, what causes it, and how to recognize when you are sinning with anger. This not only ministers to church members but serves as a powerful evangelistic tool.
Some of the content covered includes:
- Beginning steps in managing anger.
- Methods to help you control anger in your relationships.
- Ten steps for preventing anger's control in your life.
Please register your attendance by emailing counseling@centralchurch.com or calling 901-255-8115.

f.a.i.t.H. Support Group: (Facing An Illness Through HIM)
When either you or someone close to you is facing catastrophic illness, everything changes. Immediately, you are overwhelmed with grief, fear, anger, disturbing financial and medical decisions, and even life-and-death issues. Because of being lost and confused in all of this, it is important to make a connection and be able to have a conversation with others who do understand and have "been there, done that!" The mission of the f.a.i.t.H. Support Group is to provide this needed connection for those both facing and providing care for those experiencing a serious illness. Based on the fact that Jesus Christ is the only real source of true direction and hope during these times, the f.a.i.t.H. Support Group invites you to come and take part in this faithful community of hope. This groups meets monthly. For more information, contact Jim or Cyndi Siegfried at 901/755-7968, 901/486-0405, or jamesdsiegfried@aol.com . The group's website is www.faithsupportgroup.com.
