Barry and Libby Heston have been a part of adult Sunday school at Central since 1998. Bob and Kathy Haas invited them to a couples class. It was the first Sunday school class they had ever attended and they were hooked. Before long their whole family was enjoying the activities of the class and the church.
Recently, after their class had been apart for some time, Barry felt a need to draw some of those friends back together. They had a longing to learn more about marriage and family issues from a Biblical perspective, rather than a pre-packaged curriculum, as helpful as that had been in the past. So the Truth Seekers class was started this February. As Barry says, "My goal is to see the family grow spiritually," and this approach to Bible study has helped the whole class accomplish just that.
Oh, they like to have fun, too! And with Mary Moore as their activities coordinator, they have a number of fun class events like Redbirds baseball games, Easter and Valentines day events, cookouts, and other things designed to bring families together outside of Sunday.
And Barry notes, "We're always looking for new members. We don't want to grow stagnant in our relationships or develop into a clique." So what do you think? If you're looking for a way to integrate the Scriptures into your everyday family life, why not try them on for size. You'll find them in room 151/152 at 9:25 a.m. in the fellowship hall each Sunday.
