Worried about how to get through to your teen?
submitted by Linda Heinz
If you are looking to cut to the chase and get to
the heart of matters with your teen, then read
Reaching the Heart of Your Teen, by Gary and Marie Ezzo.
Is adolescence really a survival course for parents?
What is the Biblical definition of rebellion? These
are just two of the topics covered by the Ezzos.
This book is written from personal experience with
lots of insight. In addition, Reaching the Heart
of Your Teen is user-friendly with short-readable
chapters. However, the real resource is the
reflective evaluation at the end of each chapter.
A short list of questions and comments gives the
reader a chance to digest the previous discussion
and consider personal effectiveness. In conclusion,
prepare to examine your own heart as you pursue
the heart of your teen.
Promises You Can Count On: James 1:5
submitted by Don Gilbert
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who
gives generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to him. Insert "any parent"
for "any of you", repeat it often, and make it your
own.
Christian Resources
Sometimes you just need some professional help, someone to answer some questions. Try RAPHA at 1-800-383-4673 or New Life Ministries at 1-800-New-Life. Another resource is
http://www.mercydrops.com.
There are so many resources to help parents watch what their teens are
doing on the computer and on the web. One book is called "Guidance Counseling
for Parents in the Computer Age" by Baker Books. This is an instructional
guide to locate and use the best online and computer products, educational
resources, and blocking software. Let us know what you recommend so we can
pass it on to our parents.
