new kids on the block

First time guests: Welcome to the neighborhood! Please stop by the Welcome Center before proceeding to the classrooms. The Welcome Center is located on the first floor in the middle of the hallway connecting the two buildings. Our host team will greet you, guide you through the registration process, and personally escort you to your child’s classroom.

Visitor Form: The safety of children is a priority for us so we will need some information about your children (child’s name, allergies, special instructions, etc.) You may complete the visitor form online and the information will be sent to us ahead of time so we can have your child’s nametag ready when you arrive at the Welcome Center. This will save time for your family when you visit or you may complete the form in person. We look forward to seeing you Sunday! Complete the Visitor Form

What to wear to Sunday School: At Central, you will see a variety of different styles and types of clothes worn on Sunday mornings. From dresses to jeans, and dress shoes to flip flops; we encourage children to dress for comfort. Children are involved in different activities throughout the morning such as crafts, bible stories, and snacks, and we want them to enjoy themselves. So, come as you are! No dress-codes in Our Town! top

classes

Sunday Mornings: Classes are offered at 9:25 and 11:00. Children in fourth through sixth grades attend the worship service one hour with their parents. Younger children (through third grade) may attend classes both hours.

Wednesday Nights: Currently, Wednesday night classes are not meeting. They will resume in September. Our Wednesday night classes for children meet during the school year from 6:45 – 8:30. School age children may attend KidzPraise at 6:00 and then will be escorted to their classes after KidzPraise.

Younger children are taught the message of God’s love and care in a safe and secure environment. Children learn Bible truths as they interact with their teachers through age-appropriate activities including guided play, music, Bible stories, and informal moments of worship.

School-age children learn that God loves and cares for them and that God wants their trust and obedience. Teachers seek to build relationships with the children and help them discover how to live as Christians.

parenting 24/7

Helping parents make the most of their 24: Parenting is a 24/7 responsibility – moment by moment, day by day, week in and week out. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  It’s easy to get wrapped up in the “here and now” and miss what’s really important. Parents have about 24 years to raise kids . . . from before children are born until they leave home.

The Parenting 24/7 strategy seeks to equip parents (and grandparents) to think about parenting from an eternal perspective. There are significant events in life that mark growing up. The Parenting 24/7 strategy challenges parents to use these milestones to build a legacy of faith for their family.

Baptisms: Classes for parents and children help families understand the significance of the child’s decision to follow Christ. Children discover how to grow in their walk with the Lord and parents learn how to guide them. For more information, call the Children’s Ministries Office at 255-8194. Register for classes.top

Dedications: Central’s Child Dedication is a commitment parents make to put God first in their home and to trust in Him as their source of direction and help in raising their children. The dedication takes place during a church service. At the time of dedication, the congregation promises to support the parents and children in their spiritual growth over the years. Together, we look forward to the day these children will make their personal profession of faith in Christ.

Class for parents (required)

In order to participate in a dedication service, parents must first attend a dedication class. The purpose of baby dedication is to establish the partnership between the parents and the church in passing on the faith to their children and their children’s children. The class prepares and equips parents for this very important responsibility. Both parents are required to attend the class prior to dedicating their baby in a church service. Other family members are welcome to come to the class and childcare is provided.

family attendance system

With FAS Track, parents can check children into Sunday School easier and with greater security than ever before.

General Information: FAS Track is our automated check-in system. FAS Track helps ensure the safety of your child and makes Sunday School check-in fast and easy. With the FAS Track system, Sunday School teachers will have important information about your child right at their fingertips.

Parents check-in their children by entering their phone number on touch screen monitors conveniently located throughout the building and then proceed to the classroom, taking the check-in receipt and nametag with them. The check-in receipt provides the teacher with information such as the names of the parents and special instructions regarding allergies, infant care, and your location while your child is in their care. Parents may update this information at any time.

How It Works:

Ready. . .
Your family ID number is the last four digits of your phone number. We appreciate your help in keeping your family’s information updated.

Set. . .
Each Sunday, stop by one of several check-in stations located throughout Our Town before taking your child to his or her classroom. Enter your family ID number then follow the on-screen instructions and prompts. Wait for the receipt to print at the station. Older children (grades 4-6) may check-in on their own in their classroom.

Go. . .
Once they’ve got their nametag, kids may go to their class.
Place the nametag portion on your child and bring the printed receipt to your child’s classroom. Visitors and all children kindergarten and younger will also receive a claim ticket, which will be used to pick-up children after Sunday School.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What if my child switches hours?
When parents check-in they indicate which hour or hours their children will attend that day. This is done by de-selecting the choices that do not apply for that specific day.

What if my child is a visitor to Central Church?
Please check in at the Welcome Center where our host team volunteers will guide you through the registration process. top
