God & Country
The purpose of God and Country ministry is being involved with issues that concern families and individuals. Because the culture war that has engulfed our society makes claims on every area of life, we must set priorities thoughtfully, to determine how best to fulfill our calling from a Biblical perspective. Our guiding principles come from Romans 13:1-7 and 1 Peter 2:13-14.
Dear God and Country Ministry and Friends,
This week end, Concerned Women for America is among a collection of conservative groups that has joined forces to support www.WeReadTheConstitution.com. This weekend we celebrate the 224th anniversary of the signing of our U.S. Constitution. I am sending along a letter from Penny Nance, CWA, which explains several issues. This will take you to the websites. You need to click on the link, Are You Ready for internet XXXtortion?
We are all very concerned about our beloved America. But, we as followers of Jesus Christ know the POWER of PRAYER. We cannot underestimate the power of intercessory prayer, offered humbly, yet desperately! This weekend, start praying daily–for our national leaders…those that God lays on your heart.
Tuesday, September 20th, 9 to 10:15 A.M., we begin Prayer for the Nation, and Prayer for deployed military troops, at our home, Bob and Norma Seifert, 950 Fair Oaks Drive, Collierville, 901-854-9021. This prayer time is set for each Third Tuesday. I know there are many conflicts….work, children, meetings. That is the beauty of the internet…prayers, and helps for praying with definite goals in mind. We need names of military, their branch of service, and how they are related or how you might know them. Thanks!! (Norma Seifert, Billie Cash, and Brenda Hardgrave).
I have taken some thoughts from the Vantage Point Devotional which I send each day. Dwight L. Moody put it this way…”Moses spent his first forty years thinking he was somebody. He spent his second forty years learning he was a nobody. He spent his third forty years discovering what God can do with a nobody”. The Lord used the “nobody” Moses in amazing ways. And one of the things Moses did quite often in those last forty years was pray!! Moses transformed the Israelites by faithfully and determinedly exhorting them to not forget the Lord their God and then interceding to Him on their behalf, asking for their forgiveness and restoration.
May your Constitution experience be blessed!
Norma

Dear Friend, This weekend we celebrate the 224th anniversary of the signing of our U.S. Constitution. On this day, Constitution Day, citizens are encouraged to read the U.S. Constitution and participate in events and activities that honor our nation’s guiding document. Concerned Women for America is among a collection of conservative groups that have joined forces to support www.WeReadTheConstitution.com. We hope you will find this an easy way to stay in touch with all that’s happening at CWA. Multimedia: Celebrate Our Constitution’s 224th Anniversary
This Saturday, September 17th, marks the 224th anniversary of the signing of U.S. Constitution. Passion to Action: Every believer has a mission given to them by God. But for many, discovering that passion and taking the step of faith to make it a reality can be difficult. Passion to Action is the story of Josh and Beth Loecken and their four children who took a family missions trip to Africa and came away with the united passion of traveling the country and ministering to the underprivileged. Josh and Beth share their story, and how they ended up founding the ministry Passion to Action, which not only reaches out to those in need, but to other believers searching for their own life passion. Budget Woes Set to Drag On: With key budget deadlines set for Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, the high drama of budget cut debates, impasses, back room deals, and continuing resolutions are on the Congressional calendar from now right up to the holidays. Shari Rendall, CWA’s Director of Legislation and Public Policy, warns listeners about the difficulties ahead and how they can stay informed and still make their voices heard during one of the busiest seasons of the year.
