Raising a child to be successful is about teaching them to understand who Jesus Christ is and how God plays a role in all aspects of our lives. When you homeschool with Collierville Classical School, you gain access to an amazing educational facility that makes the Bible part of everything we do, teach, and learn. Beyond offering textbooks and classrooms, we want to equip parents as they seek to teach and disciple their families.
Collierville Classical School is an educational ministry of Central Church. As taught in Deuteronomy 6, we are commanded to diligently teach our children, and we believe there is a growing need for quality Christian-based education that guides children in truth, builds a faithful community, and prepares them for academic and life success.
CCS seeks to empower families through a hybrid homeschool model, with students having two days of in-classroom instruction with experienced teachers, building friendships, extra-curricular activities, and then three days of at-home learning with their families. CCS will provide a robust classical Christian education, homeschooling resources, and community support to help you be successful.
As a ministry of Central Church, CCS is able to offer:
- Biblically integrated curriculum that shows how the Bible interacts with science, the humanities, and art
- Pastoral services such as counseling and teaching
- Expanded resources to facilities and extra-curricular activities
- Community and support through Central’s ministries
- A partnership with other parents and pastors
Why Homeschool?
Homeschool may seem daunting, but CCS exists to partner with parents to educate and disciple their children. If you’re new to homeschooling, CCS provides curriculum and a classroom setting for your child to engage with peers and teachers. At home, you’re provided the lessons and materials to progress through each week.
At CCS, we provide a robust classical education that teaches grammar, math, science, and the humanities. Outside of academic benefits of a classical education, we believe that homeschooling allows parents to spend more time teaching their values and beliefs to their family.
Homeschooling tutorials present the best of both worlds: a classroom setting where students can learn from highly trained teachers, socialize with peers, all while allowing parents to disciple and teach their children at home.
Why Classical Education?
It’s been said that while traditional educational models teach us what to learn, classical education teaches us how to learn. This distinction is what makes the classical education model so powerful in a young person’s life. More than meeting state-based criteria, students are set up to enjoy the learning process for their entire life.
Classical Education focuses on the trivium, or three stages of learning:

- Grammar: Instruction of younger students in language structure, memorization, and factual knowledge to build a foundation for future learning
- Dialect: Developing student competencies in logic and reasoning, to empower them with an inquisitive mind to seek a deeper understanding of topics and truth
- Rhetoric: Maturing students in effective writing and speaking, to enable them as independent thinkers and effective communicators
These three phases of learning are naturally tailored to each stage of education and empower student’s to continue learning long after they’ve graduated. In addition to grammar, writing, and rhetoric, CCS also offers biblically-integrated curriculum on history, science, and mathematics.
