There’s an idea out there that being a senior adult means you’ve neared the end of your usefulness. We believe our senior adults have the wisdom and experience to disciple and shepherd the church. When you experience God using your time and talents for His glory, you’ll see the church in a whole new light.
Baseball teams always play their hardest in the 9th inning. They bring out their best pitcher to make sure they get the win. At Central, our Senior Adult ministry exists to bring out our best players who can teach and be an example to the rest of the church about being a follower of Jesus Christ.
When there is work to do we serve together, when there is sorrow, we give comfort together, when someone needs help, we lend a hand together, and when there is joy, we celebrate together.
Central Church Senior Adults is a community of loving and caring Seniors with a wide variety of interests, talents, and life experiences who are drawn together by the common thread of faith in Christ. We contribute to the life of the church by sharing our own lives and showing others how to live the Christian life together. Though we may be retired from other jobs and careers, we continue teaching and serving in many areas of church ministry. As Seniors, we encourage others by staying active in mind and body – learning, growing, and sharing our knowledge and abilities with each other and with the younger members of the congregation.
When you experience God using your time and talents for His glory, you’ll see the church in a whole new light.
SENIOR ADULT ACTIVITY DAY
Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Want to get a taste of fellowship with Central Seniors? Check out our Senior Adult Activity Day, every Wednesday.
We furnish coffee and the people furnish the fun and fellowship as they meet to play games (Rook, Scrabble, and Dominoes), shoot pool, visit and eat. We have lots of good cooks who bring homemade goodies to share. We have a devotional time at 11:30 a.m. We sing two or three favorite hymns, have corporate prayer, and have a short message by Gus Schroeder.
Many people bring lunch and eat together after the devotions. This is a great place to invite new friends and develop friendships that lead to eternal relationships in Christ.
You can experience great joy when you experience God’s goodness through his church.
We exist to equip you to love God and others – the way Christ loves you.
